Bio-washing is a processing technique that uses cellulase enzymes to break down the surface of natural fibers (especially cotton), creating a soft texture and vintage faded look as if the garment has been worn for many years. It is less damaging to the fabric than stone washing and quickly produces a soft feel and "atari" effect (white fading) on denim and chino pants.
