Founder Jaime Owens began his career as an intern at Skateboarder Magazine. He later served as the magazine's editor-in-chief, and during the golden age of skateboarding media, he was also the editor-in-chief of TransWorld SKATEboarding. His years of experience and knowledge in documenting skate culture are reflected in CLOSER's editorial philosophy itself.

This issue mainly features a memorial tribute to the late Marc Johnson.
