These are genuine East German military overpants. It's a simple and timeless design that you can wear in many different ways. The fabric is just the right thickness so you can wear it all year round. It's a simple design, but that's what makes it so stylish.
"NVA" is an abbreviation for Nationale Volks Armee (National People's Army), which refers to the East German military. After the reunification of East and West Germany in 1990, this military force was integrated into the German Federal Armed Forces. For an East German military item, it must be more than 30 years old, which alone indicates how rare it is.
Since these are essentially overpants, the hand pocket on the right side is a through-type. There is also a cargo pocket on the right side, so you won't have any trouble storing things.
The front is button fly and the waist is elastic. There are two D-rings on the inside of the waist for attaching suspenders, one on the front and one on the back, so you can adjust it with compatible suspenders or various strings.
*The hem has buttons to adjust the fit.
This is a great piece made from plain weave cotton that has a aged feel to it, and the fabric develops a nice crease as it is worn.
